Phi Beta Sigma was founded January 9th, 1914, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. by Most Honorable Brother A. Langston Taylor(c), Most Honorable Brother Leonard F. Morse (l), and Most Honorable Brother Charles I. Brown (r).  It was founded on the principles of Brotherhood,Scholarship, and Service, and on the motto "Culture for Service, and Service forHumanity."
    Today, Phi Beta Sigma has grown into a worldwide organization of over 110,000 brothers in chapters all across the United States, Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.  Sigmas have been involved with many aspects of people's lives through the national programs of Bigger and Better Business, Education, and Social Action.  Phi Beta Sigma demands nothing less than the best from our members and our communities
