"Our Cats"

Introducing "Moon Shadow"

After prematurely losing a Perian kitten to a congenital defect, my family and I attended a cat show here in San Diego.  Little did we know that we would be bringing home a temperamental, sophisticated, demanding little ball of white fluff home......who my daughter later named "Shadow".  (Mom-me added the "Moon" to her name.)

Shadow has been one of our wilder Persians.  She can be fiesty and has no problem letting one know it....especially when there is a knot in her coat that the comb is catching on.  She has even been known to charge our German Shepherds to help "Mom" with discipline.  She demands her favorite wet food by tripping anyone who nears her food bowl within 25 feet!   Plus, she will vocally demand what she desires.  Lastly, she is a bed hog when she fancys sleeping with us...or should I say ON TOP of us all winter long.

Otherwise, Shadow is a wonderful house cat and companion.  Of course, she never sets foot out of doors, but is an excellent spider hunter indoors.  She always lets it be known that she does not appreciate our other GSD wishing to sleep in bed with her, and loathes the Siamese mix that has invaded our home now...who we call "Tiki".  Shadow is quite the "stuffy" cat.

will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."

"Skye"

Skye, a Himalayan, is the perfect cat, in my humble opinion.  She is the friendliest cat to family, friends and even strangers.  She is loving and sweet as well as beautiful.  If given the chance, she'll be in your lap rubbing and cuddling and kneading her paws on you!   Skye has been known to sit in the dog's food bowl and loves to hop into the dryer and "help" me fold clothes!  Skye and our white German Shepherd are best pals....they both possess gentle natures.

"Tiki"

After losing my daughter's first kitten to the congenital heart defect, and then purchasing Shadow who only seems to love me and not our daughter, we found a litter of kittens supposedly born to a feral cat.   They were being sold at a feed store and we fell in love with them.  I learned once again to be careful from where I purchase animals, for Tiki came home loaded with bacteria and coccidia as well.

Healthy, fat and happy now, Tiki is quite the terror in the house.  She adores my daughter whom we bought her for, and she harrasses our poor Shadow the cat.  The dogs are intimidated by little fearless Tiki including our one very large male GSD, Luke.  Tiki has been known to hang on to our female German Shepherd's tail and go for rides.  This is a cat with purr-sonality!
