| Dear Parents, Hi! My name is Ashley, and I will be your child's teacher! It is always so exciting to start a new school year. I look forward to meeting you and your child. You learned a little about me on the "Meet Ms. Ashley" page, but I would love to share a little more with you. My husband and I moved to England in March due to his orders with the military. Before we moved here, I was teaching in Tennessee at Griffith Elementary School. I was teaching a wonderful group of first graders. I also taught second grade for a full year at Griffith. I graduated from the University of Tennesee at Chattanooga in 2003 with a B.S. degree in Human Ecology: Child and Family Studies PreK - 4th grade with an early childhood teacher licenser. I am considered a highly qualified teacher. I am in the process of getting my masters in education. Since we have moved so far away from my family, it helps me to realize how special they are in my life. My husband, Michael, is in the United States Air Force. He is a vehicle operator. I keep in contact with my family back in the States mostly through emails. My mom, Jane, and I write each other everyday. She works the front desk of a doctor's office at Parkridge Hospital. My dad, Mike, is on disability, but always finds hobbies to do. He is currently going to Chattanooga State College to work on small motors. He is repairing a ski boat. I love the water. My favorite place to go is the beach. My bedroom is full of seashells that I collect. Other things that I enjoy doing are: reading, decorating, riding rollercoasters, and playing tennis! I chose teaching as my career because I have always loved being around children. They are so much fun, and they are fascinated by new things! Our classroom door is always open.
