I made it out of scraps of lexan,it took four pieces and doesn't fit well. I will most likely redo it, Maybe spend some cash for a real trackball and optipac.
The speaker panel kicks ass!
I bought a shitty Roadmaster speakerbox at Mallwart for $15 bucks and gutted it.
You can see the lid from it under the front of the control box
It is wired with The guts of a $20 Creative SBS 330 PC speaker system which is the cheapest thing I could find with a subwoofer and it has a volume remote so I can have a volume control on deck with a minimum of work involved.
Also allows me to turn the sound on and off.
It sounds great!
It had this dome shape underneath for the swivel base which was making it impossible to mount steady. My efforts to brace it were spreading the sides of the cab apart so I took it back out and cut the bottom around the dome.
the bitch was tough! after I cut all the way around I expected the dome piece to fall out, but no such luck.
I commenced to put the hammer to it but it just bounced off like it was part of a steel frame. prying did nothing either.
I changed to attacking with the claw end and was sure I would snap the claws off I was hitting it so hard.
finally pieces started to chip off, and it took me 15 minutes of hammering to get it all free.
They dont make tanks like this anymore.
Now I need to move on to the monitor bezel and marquee.
