Hello Blandin Friends,

I am sure you are on the fore front of Carolyn's mind as well, however I wanted to touch base with you on the Leadership Morris program that is going to be starting on October 26. The Chamber has a few opening still available and I wanted to share some of this information, and encourage you or a representative from your organization to attend.

I attended the leadership Morris program about 10 years ago...and last year I choose to go through it again. I have to tell you that I speak very highly of this new format that they are using. And if you or if you have someone in your organization that you feel would benefit from this program I highly recommending attending.

Here is a bit of information about the program:

Leadership Morris is a collaborative effort between the Morris Area Chamber and the MN Extension Service with partial funding from the West Central Initiative Fund. The sessions will combine local expertise on Morris resources and quality leadership development speakers to provide a well rounded learning experience.

The Leadership Program is eight sessions that run from October 26, 2004 to June 28, 2005. The session are on the 4th Tuesday of the month, from 8:30- to 3:00.

Tuition for each participant is $135. This includes breaks, lunch, program materials and speakers.

Here's what you'll learn: Find out what's going on in Morris and who's doing it. Develop your own leadership skills and personal growth. Establish a support network and sense of connectedness to the community. Increase your knowledge of the community. Develop and awareness of the challenges and opportunities Morris has to offer.

A portion of each session will focus on leadership skill building such as: Community Assessment
Communication and Conflict
Civic Leadership
Understanding Community Power
Community Problem Solving
Accepting the Leadership Challenge.
Please take the time to think about this opportunity. If you have additional questions or would like to participate please feel free to give Carolyn at the Chamber a call at 320-589-1242. Or if you would like my thoughts on the program I will be happy to visit with you as well. My number is 589-3508 or my e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks for your time and consideration.
Patty
