The Big Picture

Outside on the field the people stood,
Shuffling noisily and excitedly,
So involved and focused on forming
A part
Of the large picture composed of people,
Too deep in the crowd to know
How the picture looked.
But Jimmy,
Yearned to see it,
The picture in its entire beautiful form.
So he walked
Far from the crowd
To the top of the hill slope.
The people below had completed the picture below,
And Jimmy saw the most beautiful picture
Ever formed by a crowd of people.
But he wasn't a part of it.
He wasn't there.
Because he wanted to see the big picture.
