There's A Fly In My Soup
By Gordon Mei

There's a fly in my soup.

A fly.
With butterfly wings.
And polka dots.
Related to Bill Clinton,
And Bill Clinton's elephant,
And that elephant's nephew's daughter,
Twice removed,
Danced.
In the air.
Towards a large mirror.
And lost sense of direction.
And its fly eyes failed it.
And it plummeted.
Downward.
As opposed to upward.
Straight at the table.
Which had a bowl.
Of minestrone.
And it landed.
Splosh.

There's a fly in my soup.
