What Makes Tetrinet Different From Tetris
Well, Tetrinet is almost exactly like Tetris. The rules are the same - making horizontal lines with the blocks to the clear that line of blocks and trying not to get any blocks to touch the top. And if you play with two players on Tetris, you work against each other. In Tetrinet, you can play with up to 5 other players, with or without teams, and there is a chat area on the bottom of the screen. And you can change the settings so that more types of certain blocks appear or so that people being with pre-made stacks. But most importantly, you get to have special blocks. These special blocks are balls labelled with letters, each with a helpful or destructive feature.

Special Blocks
When you clear a line of blocks with a special block in that line (a special block is a gray ball with a letter on it), then the special block(s) that were in that line go to your little arsenal (the horizontal, black rectangle below the white box). And to use the special blocks, you type the number of the player that you want to use it on. For example, if it's a good block, and you are player 1, you can use it on yourself by typing "1". If you want to use a bad block on an opponent, for example, Player 2, then you type "2".

How to Create Your Own Server
This actually took some figuring out on my own because Tetrinet's help page was very confusing. To put it in simple terms, all you have to do is 1) Go to Server Settings, 2) Click Start Server. That's it. And if you want people to join your server, you give them your IP number (ex. 172.43.75.543). They would join your server by going to Client Settings and putting your IP number in the "server IP" box and pressing "Connect". Both the host and the joiners should go to the "Partyline" tab after pressing Connect or Start Server.

(If you don't know your IP number, you can find out by clicking on "Start" on your Windows taskbar, selecting "Run" from the menu, putting winipcfg in the box, and clicking "Open".)

How Partyline Works
Partyline works like any chatroom. To say something in the Partyline chatroom, type in the thin box on the bottom of the screen and then press Enter (on the keyboard). A list of the players online in the server is shown on the top-right, and the host of the server has the ability to kick or ban anyone from the server. To join a team, type in the thin box on the top of the screen located next to the "Update Team" button. If you type "Team", for example, and press Enter, it will say "So-and-so has joined Team "Team"". If two people wan t to join the same team, they would put the same name in the team box. To start the game, press "Start Game". Really easy. To pause the game...oh, you can figure this out yourself.
