Bring a sweater or jacket to layer your clothing if the temperature gets cool Shorts are better in summer, but only if you plan to spend your day outside; most churches will not allow adults wearing shorts inside their doors. Nor will they tolerate tank top on women; it is advisable to exercise a little modesty in dress.

If you want to enter Casino; The Casino Municipale (open from April to September on the Lido) or The Palazzo Vendramin Calergi (open from October to March), you should bring a suit and a tie for man.

We also advise all of you to bring two pair of shoes: light and supportive sports shoes for day (because your principal means of transportation are your feet in Venice). Dressy and comfortable leather shoes for night.

Where can I have money changing services ?

Venetian banks are generally open weekdays, 8:30 – 13:30 and 15:00 – 16:00, but not all offer money-changing services. Many a tourist has spent a lot of time line only to discover that he’s wastes it in a place that cannot help him. So be advised and ask first at the information desk before stepping into a line.

Also, you can usually change money at your hotel’s front desk or foreign-exchange office. There are a number of these establishments in or near Piazza San Marco and such shops are scattered all over the city and can easily be spotted by the “Cambio” sign display out front.

Currency exchange: You'll probably get a better rate at the "Bancomat" ATM next to the bank inside the departures area, which is to your right and down the sidewalk as you leave the building.

What can i do in Venice? And other sights?

There are plenty of things to do in Venice; you could live in Venice for years and not see all the museums, churches, and art. But you have to know what's out there. During the tour you'll hear about some of the sights that we’re unable to visit on the tour; ask the guide and she will be happy to point them (or others) out to you at the end of the tour. If you'd like to find non-touristy sights and unexplored islands, let her know. If you have an interest in the Jewish Ghetto or glassblowing on Murano or bird-watching in the cemetery, she will be able to offer advice on where to go and how to get there.
