| Chang Wufei is a descendant of a legendary Chinese clan. He was sent to Earth to fight against OZ. He feels strongly about his beliefs and lives his life with honor. He chooses to fight his battles alone. He feels highly of himself. This contributes to how he reacts when he loses a battle. Wufei is often criticized for being unkind towards women. I believe he feels that women should not fight battles. Before the Gundam Wing series, Wufei was living in the colonies with his wife. OZ attacked the colony and Wufei's wife went out to battle the OZ mobile suits. She called herself Nataku (a hero of Chinese mythology). She died in battle. As you watch the Gundam Wing series, you notice Wufei call his gundam Nataku. |
