| Single TEENAGE WASTELAND / GET GLAMED WITH ROCK'N'ROLL Hey, they kick off with a stolen Kiss riff, Strutter indeed, they have her living in that required-by-glam-rock-law teenage wasteland within their first few lines, this is glorious trash. GUTTER QUEENS are boys and girls (we can't decide which but we'd sleep with them all, once we'd drunk all their cheap wine) in glitter and heels and big feather boas. That second track is pure Zodiac Mindwarp biker sleaze. They proudly call themselves Glam Sluts - they're probably Switzerland's greatest band ever (besides Tea of course - alright then, Celtic Frost and those Young Gods may have a say in the argument) and they're probably keeping that small country's hairspray and lipstick industries alive all by themselves. Think New York Dolls, Turbonegro, teazy sleazy, far trashier than Rachel Stamp could ever be - slut rock. Organ Zine, Issue 70 July / August 2001 (UK) |
