| Pure Rock'n'Roll has to be done with Glam and Make-up! Bowie did it, Kiss only were good when they got Make-up on and you really can't imagine Gary Glitter coming up without Eyeliner, can you? And now the GUTTER QUEENS from Switzerland are doing it too and their idea of Glam is beyond all limits!!! Five Drag Queens who look like Sluts (they think their music is Slut Rock so this won't affect them at all!) are playing Rock'n'Roll with Glam... It's as much Suede as it is Slade or Mr. Ziggy Stardust himself. Of course their Rock is compared with the Godfathers of this scene, the New York Dolls and Hanoi Rocks. But that's just as stupid as say a Rock record sounds like Elvis Presley as the GUTTER QUEENS stole all the elements from Glam Punk'n'Roll but their image and sound is something that is their own. Great news as even this CD is sold-out, you can download for free four songs at their website. So this time there is no excuse not to shake your hips!! Original Sin # 32, March 2001 (Belgium) |
