CD Review by
Quintessence Metal Zine
HOT IN HOLLYWOOD (2001 Sheep Records)

Here's a first! The same country that has brought us CELTIC FROST brings us this 5-piece Glam meets Drag band. I say that because 2 of the 5 members are female and thank God their names were listed, I would have a harder time with the clothing and make-up of figuring what sex each were!

The band is as rowdy as you would expect musically, B52's, MC5 with goodies like the CRAMPS, HANOI ROCKS, the RAMONES, 45 GRAVE and IGGY POP. The band even throws a couple of Metal influences here and there and on this 4-track CD which includes a cover of Bowie's SUFFRAGETTE CITY.

The band's Discography is as long as my arm but hardly have any full-length's to show for it. The ROCK SLUTS have a full-length from their beginning called BORN TO BE CHEAP and enough compilation and 7" tracks to probably make at least 2 more full-length's.

This year in the U.S. the GUTTER QUEENS will be heard on a few Compilations as well and will spread their music, style and attitude.

There is a rare few that do this style of music and image but GUTTER QUEENS are definitely unique and would be suitable to U.S. labels like Daemon Records or Tee Pee.

Despite the image that amuses some people, the music takes over and delivers the point of "being judgmental".
