parkgate studios were used in may, 1998 to record 17 songs for the album which eventually became bloodflowers.
at this time, i was still living in sussex, and probably drove past catsfield twice or three times a month...

click the title to view the studios' own website, from whom i have stolen the slide show above. i'd recommend that you visit, it's an excellent site.

robert quote:

"we demo'd 17 songs for the record in early summer 98 at parkgate studios, sussex
with paul corkett co-producing, assisted by sasha jankovic
and although we were all very keen to get on with 'the real thing'
we thought it would be a good idea to 'play ourselves in'
and so decided to do a few festivals..."

the following is lifted without permission and without pretending otherwise from www.thecure.com:

assorted pictures from our demo sessions at parkgate studios, may 98...

jason doing his 'animal' impersonation; robert watching england draw tediously with saudi arabia;
bill not having any clue as to where he is or what he's doing;
bill losing at pool to simon; simon "onetake" gallup;
roger washing his "where's the scale?" car;
and perry impersonating jason's 'camera' face...

robert and his psychedelic six string bass; the control room... "its all gone blurred"; sasha 'the king' jankovic;
roger getting funky (huh?) with his mini-moog; daryl plotting schedules;
jason remembering his favourite drum fills; and robert at the 'big mac in the ivory temple'...

simon 'having a laugh'; perry busking; robert feeling unusually cold
(and apparently ready to "kick ass"!); perry and robert in the 'live' room;
and paul 'corky' corkett at the controls as ever...
