USS Enterprise

This was the first Starship to bear the name Enterprise. It was first captained by Captain Robert April, then by Captain Christopher Pike. However, the captain who made the Enterprise famous was Captain Kirk.

The ship was Constitution class, and was launched from the San Francisco yards orbiting earth in 2245. Overall length was 289 metres. The ship was destroyed by self-destruct in 2285 when Kirk was faced with a power-hungry Klingon crew.

This was probably the most famous starship in history, and was the start of a chain of great starships.
