Viperidae
Venomous snakes of the old world with long hinged hollow fangs in the front of the jaw.
The fangs act like an injection needle. Effect of venom usually not neurotixic (with exceptions!) but causing necrosis of the tissue.  Some of the world's most feared snakes belong to the viperidae.
