Tourist Visa

Tourist visas are issued to foreign citizens entering Brazil :

A. on tourism;
B. to visit family;
C. to participate in sports competitions as amateurs, provided that admission to such activities is free of charge and that no prize money is awarded;
D. to attend conferences or congresses of professional interest, provided that this participation is not remunerated.

MINIMUM DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF TOURIST VISAS TO LEBANESE CITIZENS


1- Application form, duly completed and signed.

2- The following documents (with photocopies of all papers presented) must be attached to the application form:
        a- Passport valid for a minimum of six months, counting on the entrance date in Brazilian territory, with photocopies of
            all pages with stamps, visas and annotations;
        b- Two recent professional 3x4 cm size photograph, front view, black and white or in colour, with a light coloured
             background. No other photos accepted;
        c- Print out of the booking. Itinerary must be on airline or travel agent's letterhead paper, or identified with travel agency /
            airline stamp. Itinerary must also show dates and cities in Brazil of entry and departure. (For airline employees only, ID
            card and support letter from employer replace ticket or itinerary). Once the visa authorized, it'll be mandatory showing
            the round trip air ticket or complete itinerary with passenger's name;
        d- Judicial record translated into Portuguese, French, English or Spanish;
        e- Notarized letter of consent signed by father and mother or guardian (proof of guardianship required), for applicants
            under 18 years old when travelling alone. If travelling with one parent only, notarized letter, by the lebanese Ministry of
            Foreign Affairs, of consent of the other non accompanying parent is required. Letters of consent should be notarized at
            the lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Alternatively, in both cases, an authorization could be done in front of an
            employee of the Consular Section;
        f- Married people must present either the marriage certificate or the familiar extract, translated into Portuguese,
            French, English or Spanish;
        g- Valid international yellow fever vaccination certificate, if the visitor has been to some African or South American
            countries within three months prior to entering Brazil. Click here for a list of these countries. Yellow fever vaccination is
            recommended for applicants intending to visit States in Northern and Central West Brazil and one State in
            North-eastern Brazil. Click here for a list of these states.
3- Applicants should prove  to have sufficient funds for self maintenance for the duration of stay in Brazil  facing their trip
    expenses to Brazil by means of presenting the following documents:
        a- Bank account status (bank certified photocopy) of the last 12 (twelve) months ;
        b- Proof of employment (see information herein bellow);
        c- Or, lack of these, invitation letter from a first degree relative*, addressed to the Embassy, presenting
            himself as responsible for the expenses of the stay in Brazil, with legalized signature accompanied of authenticated
            photocopies of the brazilian signer's identity documents. If the host is temporarily in Lebanon, he or she could sign a
            term of responsibility in the presence of a consular employee (one must attach the familiar extract proving it kinship).
4- Consular fees:
        a) Visa fee: L.P. 60.000,oo (R$ ouro 20,oo in stamps);
        b) Telegram communication fee (optional, on demand, to avoid an additional delay of about 30 days on all
            communications by diplomatic pouch):
                                                            - one person: L.P. 75.000,oo (R$ ouro 25,oo in stamps); or
                                                            - two or more: L.P. 120.000,oo (R$ ouro 40,oo in stamps);
        c) All fees are payable in cash (Lebanese Pounds only). Credit cards or cheques are not accepted.

PLEASE NOTE THAT
        a) All applicants must present its request personally to the Consular Service. One solely person may present its own application and that of its family at the same time. Another person could be in charge of getting the passport back by means of a written authorization made by the applicant on the consular receipt, given at the very moment of the application.
        b) Applications will only be accepted if all required documentation. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to obtain all the documents required for issuance of the visa. Visas are valid for arrival in Brazil within 90 days from the date of issuance.
        c) The visa application is transmitted to the Brazilian authorities either by diplomatic pouch or by telegram and the reply would be expected, in the first case, after two months on and, in the second case, after fifteen days on.
        d) After 3 working days the applicant must inform itself at the Consular Service in order to certify that its application was fully accepted or if other informations or documents are required.

NB:  1- The Embassy reserve itself the right of doing other requirements, as, for example, a bank deposit guarantee.
        2- A written authentication would be required in order to verify the authenticity of any type of document or stamp - particularly visas - in case of suspected irregularities.
        3- No document (contract, etc.) signed in Brazil by a non-resident will have any legal effect unless this alien citizen holds a business visa.



*First degree relatives are considered only: mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, cousin, grandfather, grandmother and parents-in-law.


It is absolutely forbidden for the Consular Service to accept faxes or non authenticated photocopies.
 
All consular services are free of charge, only the purchase value of the stamps are charged.

PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants of visas must confirm their employment or profession by the following way:

1- Employees of the private sector:
        a) Work attestation, signed by the Director of de establishment, indicating (compulsory) the numbers of years serving, must be accompanied of the “commercial register” of the establishment at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and
        b) Card of adhesion to the "Caisse Nationale de Securité Sociale".

2- Employees of public sector:
        a) Administrative employees: attestation of the respective Ministry, on a stamped official paper with proper ink stamp,  name and signature of the person in charge;
        b) Militaries: authorization to leave lebanese territory, on a stamped official paper with proper ink stamp, name and signature of the person in charge.

3- All other cases:
        Attestation of pertaining to a union, association or Chamber of Commerce and Industry, indicating (compulsory) the date of  adhesion.
