THE GREAT AGREEMENT

"There goes another statue," said Sir Loungalot.
"That dragon Smoke always destroys them," said Sir Douglas.
All of a sudden, I arrive. I say, "Who are you, and what are you talking about?"
"I am Sir Loungalot, and this is Sir Douglas, and we are talking about Smoke and what he has done to our castle."
"And where does Smoke live?" I ask.
"He lives across the badlands, through Death Desert, and across the lava pit in Death Cave."
"How are you going to kill him," I ask.
"We shall slay him," said Sir Douglas.
"But how? He's got a breast full of scales," I say.
"Not on the left side, he doesn't," said Sir Douglas.
"So, shall we be on our way?" said Sir Loungalot.
"Yes," I say. So we're off. About halfway, I say, "I know Smoke very well. Maybe if I talk to him we could reach an agreement. You wouldn't have to slay him, either."
    "Okay," said Sir Loungalot.
So, I crossed the badlands and sped across Death Desert and swung across the lava pit to Death Cave. I say, "Smoke!" and he comes up from his lava pool and says, "Hello."
"Could we reach an agreement that if you don't wreck the castle's statues, they won't steal your treasure?"
    "Okay," said Smoke.
Then I swung across the lava pit, sped across Death Desert, and crossed the badlands to Sir Loungalot and Sir Douglas. And they said, "So?"
And I answered, "So? We reached an agreement."
"And what's the agreement?" asked Sir Loungalot.
I said, "Smoke won't wreck your castle if you don't steal his treasure."
"Okay," they said. And they lived happily ever after.
