For systems where buzzer cannot be intergrated on main board. Recently I acquired 20 cheap buzzers on Aliexpress, these are low resistance and must have additional separating transistor, not for amplifying signal but rather for resistance transformation. Low resistance can be dangerous for ports of old technology '51 UCs, where very low dissipation currents are available.
Buzzer is especially important element in my digital systems because it can communicate with me by telegraphy, it is full scale output channel like LCD.
