SP8WJT/HF8V - RED ARMY RADIOTELEGRAPH SIMULATOR - SP8WJT/HF8V ============ R C A P T T ============ OVERVIEW: RCA telecom network in the 1930s had circuits to 43 countries and 11 major american cities. Auto Morse up to 200 WPM was in use. In 1931 (still early days of shortwaves) RCA utilized 96 frequencies in transcontinental range (6-28 MHz). This file lists only PTP part of RCA network. QRA code was FCC recomended form of identification of radiostation, so it is almost sure that all american stations have been used QRA tapes. In Europe VVV tapes were more popular. Of course tapes are still over represented in RARS, it was recomended to use such self identification but many american radiooperators were probably too lazy to punch proper text on paper tape and run it. In earlier RARS versions a lot of tapes were run 24H, but slowly time constraints are introduced. In case when I dont have real skeds a kind of "sked simulation" is used, for example even/odd hour, daylight hours on higher bands etc... This will be corrected when historical skeds will be found (if such materials still exists).
