SP8WJT/HF8V - RED ARMY RADIOTELEGRAPH SIMULATOR - SP8WJT/HF8V SOE SPY NETWORK HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: SOE spy network in Europe during 2WW. It was network of small clandestine radiostations tied with two Operational Centres. HQ Operational Centre: London West and Central Europe Cairo South Europe Some sources claims it was about 600 stations (in various periods). Agents were generally bad trained and many of them were cought quickly by Nazis, so these stations does not survived long in the air. This documentation file also includes Polish spy network in Europe which was number two, but they were not part of SOE operationally. Propbably in first period they communicated via SOE network but later they had direct communication with polish government in London. In France polish stations had almost as big network as french had. All polish codes were broken by Nazis and many stations were liquidated after some period of gathering informations by Abwehr. In Poland bigger 15 Watt radio stations were used, while in France, Netherlands smaller 5 Watt Mark-x type. Another detached network simulated is Mihailovic Partizans stations in Yugoslavia. This network communicated with Cairo and Malta. Original callsigns are taken from german radio intercept reports. It seems at the begining of war individual callsign system was used, but later replaced by linear callsign system. Latter is simulated in RARS. PROCEDURES: Special (hidden) Q codes were used. Probably some international and amateur common codes were used too. Obviously operators were not highly qualified since training period was rather short.
