SBA keep first clean sheet since Tim reached puberty

SBA recorded another fine victory in a game that had to be cut short because of the weather.

The Astroturf "all weather" pitch was deemed unplayable by the Warwick Uni staff at 11am. We hung around a bit and sent our negotiators to try and sort something out.

We eventually kicked off at 11:45am and decided to play 30 mins each way.

QPR began as the stronger team but never really threatened the SBA goal. After 10 minutes some good link up play between the SBA midfield and attack led to a shot by Young Dan being spilled by the keeper. Young Dan was on hand to tuck the loose ball away. 1-0.

Mark Woodfield got his reward for some good running on the left wing; after some play in the QPR box, the ball fell to him and he struck it sweetly from 20 yards into the opposition net. A fantastic goal and 2-0 to the SBA.

QPR had a good chance when their midfielder hit the bar from the edge of the box. SBA defended well as Qpr had some pressure.

Half time: 2-0

SBA came out and looked to use the wings more effectively in the 2nd half. A small midfield interchange with Breeno and Jordy, led to Jordy chipping the ball through to Millsy, who had a cross cum shot that beat the keeper. 3-0 and SBA are well on the way to another victory.

Sadly the game was cut short when the people with the 12:30 booking insisted that we come off the pitch.

Final Score SBA 3 - 0 ASB

An honourable mention must go to Jack the keeper for two or three very fine saves at important times. Jack commanded his area from the continual aerial threat from QPR and was in contention for the man of the match award.

Shooter: Joe Adams - Solid at the back

Rooter - Joe Adams for the ridiculous phone hoax - Victims include Ali, Tim, Breeno, Millsy, Cledders, Jordy and no doubt, numerous others. I hope you had a good laugh, Rooter!

SBA Stat Attack:

The season's statistics are making good reading at the moment:

Played 6, Won 6, Scored 30. Not bad, eh?

No games for a while but we may get a bit of training on the go down at Spencer Park. Watch this space.
