Terms & abbreviation
5 pk:A pack containing 5 cars such as a 5 car gift pack.Each year 12 new 5 car themed packs are released
Anniv:A commemorative Anniversary Issue.
Baggie: The plastic bag that some cars come in such as Bonus cars.
Blister:The clear plastic that surrounds and holds the car onto the Card.
BP:Blister Pack(The same as above) The moulded plastic bubble packaging that holds the car on the card.
C1-C10:The grading system used to determine the condition of a car that has been removed from the blister.10 being the best condition & 1 the lowest.
Card:The cardboard backing that the blister is attached to.
CH: The car was made in China.
CHR:Car has Chrome on it.
CN:Collector Number.This is the big bold number that are on the Cardboard Card.The year 2000 sees the introduction of a new numbering system that replaces the old system that started in 1989.
Collectibles:Vehicles that are released as Limited Editions usualy as a set.The cars are produced more for the adult collector in mind.The Vehicles are alot more detailed & come with detailed Wheels,Paint,Tampo Design,Parts & Moveable Parts.
Copyright:This is the date that is usually on the base of a Vehicle.It shows the date that the Vehicle was first cast for the very first time.The copyright on the Blister Card shows the date that the Car was CopyWritten.I good guide is to add a year to the date on the card which will give you the actual year of the cars production.
DK:Car has a dark shading of the particular colour.
EC:Error Car or Error Card.Error cars come in many different types.Parts missing,Tampos missing,Wheels are different or missing,Car is in the blister facing the wrong way(Usually car faces front to the right.)Error cards usually have a different car in the blister than the one described on the card.(Not that uncommon).
EX:A car that is in excellent condition.This means a car or card that is in good condition with some flaws.(i.e. Not Mint.)
FE:First Editions refers to a car that has been produced for the first time using a new casting.First Editons came out for the first time in 1996.
Final Run:A Vehicle that ihas been produced for the very last time before the Manufacturer destroys the die.Usually comes out in a special packaging to commemorate the final run of that particular casting.
FL:A car that has Fluorescent paint on it.
FS:A car that is For Sale.
FT:A car that is For Trade.
GD:A car that is in good condition.This usually means that the car has many flaws in it.
Grade:The condition of the car determined by a grading system.This numeric system starts at 1(Extremely Poor condition)and ends at 10(Mint condition.)Cars that are worth collecting generally start at a grading of  8.
HTF:A car that is hard to find.Either from being rare or very popular.
IN:A Vehicle tat is manufactured in India
INT:Stands for cars Interior or a car that is on an International card.
LE:Means a car that is a limited Edition.This is a car that is produced in a limited run of a specified amount of cars made.
LGT:Car has a light shading of the particular colour.
LTD:The same as above the car is a limited.
M:The car is Mint(No flaws).
MAL:The Vehicle was manufactured in Malaysia
MIB:A car that is Mint In Blister ,Mint in Box or Mint in Baggie and  has no flaws & is perfect in every way.Car & card.
MOC:A Car that is Mint & still on a cardboard blister card.
MOMC:A car that is Mint & still on a Mint cardboard blister card.
MS:Model Series
NIB:New in Bister,New in box or New in plastic baggie.
NM:Near Mint.A car that is almost perfect,it only has a small flaw on close inspection.
NRFB:A car that has Never removed from Blister,Box or Baggie.
Package Number:This is the number that is shown on the card usually near the Blister.
Peg What holds the car on the rack at the shop.
Peg Warmer:A car that sits on the pegs for a long time without selling.
Pro Racing Series:Series of cars produced for the first time in 1997 that were based on the NASCAR racing cars.
Rack:The display stand that the cars are displayed on.
Retired Model:A Vehicle that will never be produced again.The Die is destroyed by the manufacturer.
RL:Red Lines.These cars were the early hot wheel cars which had red stripes around the tyres.Generally 1968-1977.
Roof Rub:The scuffing that occurs when the car rubs against the blister.
RR:Real Riders.These are rubber tyres on plastic rims.
Run:The amount of cars produced of a particular car or the time period that the car was produced for.
SE:A car that is a Special Edition run.They usually are produced as a promotional car for a company.
Segment Series:Vehicles that are Released in a set of 4 individual blister packs each year.Each year there are usually 12 different segment series comprising 4 different cars in each series.Each of the 12 series are painted in a theme.Segment cars have been produced since 1995.(aka Mini Series,Collector Car Series)
SPFL:A car that has spectraflame paint.
Tampo:Designs,Decoration & labels that are pressed on the side of a car using a Tampo Press Machine during production.
TH:A Treasure Hunt series car.These cars are released in a limited number.Often packed 1 per case of 72 cars but not always.First produced in 1995.
THA:The Vehicle was manufactured in Thailand.
Variation:A car that is different from the originally released one.
Very Good:A car with some noticeable flaws.
Virtual Collection:35 cars produced in 2000.The Bister pack contains a code that you can input to download a screensaver of the car through Hot Wheels.Com site.
VHTF:A car that is Very Hard to Find.Usually caused through the car being popular or a small run of the car being produced.
