Wedding in the Sky |
 |
Time on earth will soon be ending.
Saints from heaven are descending,
And the church its way is wending
To meet Jesus in the sky. |
 |
Lamps will all be trimmed and burning,
For the Bridegroom is returning
With a heart that still is yearning
For that wedding in the sky. |
 |
To that wedding in the sky
All the saints will meet on high
For a place they all will vie
At the wedding in the sky. |
 |
Time is swiftly passing by.
We can be ready, if we try,
In the twinkling of an eye.
Hold that wedding in the sky. |
 |
Golden bells will all be ringing.
Hosts from heaven sweetly singing,
And the Bridegroom, He is bringing
Peace and joy up in the sky. |
 |
With the bride at last ascended
Heads all bowed and knees all bended
Giving thanks to know it's ended
With a wedding in the sky. |
 |
Christ is coming; we are ready,
Drinking wine so pure and heady
Keeps our love as strong and steady
At His throne up in the sky. |
 |
Long we've waited here refining
For His day so bright and shining
Where in clouds of silver lining
Hold that wedding in the sky. |
 |
Joined with Jesus there forever,
Here no power this tie can sever.
By God's will we're bound together
By that wedding in the sky. |
 |
Looking forward to that rapture
With no thought of the hereafter.
Jesus writes the final chapter
In that wedding in the sky. |
