but wish it was her instead of you.
Knowing that this summer from school you are out,
grandma wishes she heard that you were well and playing about.
I thought when you broke a part (your wrist) of you
that would be enough hard luck all the summer through.

now I hear you got `POX' all over you.
I just wish there was something that could take away the itch, as
I know you would rather be out in the field with soft balls to pitch.
Grandma wishes someone could be as sly as an old fox, and take
the (chicken) pox, `Send it off to the moon in a box
instead of you having it in your pretty locks.
Along with her prayers all her Love grandma sends,
hoping that everything hurrys and mends.
