Final Fantasy....
A gaming revolution
Mario, Zelda, Sonic and Donkey Kong. All have been around since the first days of console gaming. All have survived. But, there is another. One that was not so famous as the said games.
Final Fantasy. It has been going just as long as any of those game franchises. And with the Arrival of the tenth installment looming, I have decided to devote a space to the amazing Final Fantasy games.
Final Fantasy VII
Although the series had been around for ages, this game was the first Final Fantasy game that anyone noticed. And with good reason. The first six installments were only released in Japan!
But this game is spectacular, with only Metal Gear Solid challenging it for the King of PS1 crown. The anime style graphics, the believable characters and unbelievable story made sure this game ruled all. The story revolves around Cloud, a young man with a mysterious past who joins with good-natured terrorist group AVALANCHE, and from there is entwined into a fantastic plot featuring monsters, Evil corporations,
Giant birds, True love and eventually a scheme to destroy earth with a giant meteor!
The picture on the right shows Tifa (this was the cleanest picture I could find of her. Those Hentai fiends are tarnishing her rep by posting smutty pictures of her on the net. Damn them.),Cloud's love interest. She is my favourite character, besides baddie Sephiroth (but don't get me started on what the Hentai people did to him!)
Then Final Fantasy VIII arrived. It came, it saw, it sucked.
But Squaresoft learned their lesson and gave us....
Final Fantasy IX
This is possibly better than Final Fantasy VII. The setting changed from futuristic metropolis and evil corporations to Medieval castles and  valiant knights. The highlight of the game is Vivi, shown in his full glory to the right. He may look like a pointy hatted Loon, but he is in fact a powerful mage created for evil, and inclined to do good. Sword-carrying Sephiroth is replaced by Make-up fiend Kuja, who astoundingly still manages to be as evil as ol' Sephiroth. So, Final Fantasy IX is more of the same style from
Final Fantasy VII. But that works better than "new style"
Final Fantasy VIII ever did.
The deliciously evil Make-up man Kuja
(Yup, that's a thong.)
Sephiroth, frozen in ice and ready to do evil.
Go back to Spider-Man!
