MOVIE REVIEWS
LORD OF THE RINGS
This was by far the best film of last year. Backed by stunning special effects, excellent direction and outstanding perforances, this highly anticipated version of the Tolkien epic is unlike anything you've ever seen before. All three parts of the trilogy were filmed together over about a year and a half, and the effort shows. So heroically, Lord Of The Rings gets 10 THUMBS UP!
THE BIG LEBOWSKI
The Coens are the greatest directors ever, and this film is my favourite of theirs. Jeff Bridges, John Goodman and Steve Buscemi are a hysterical trio, because all three give their best performances ever.
The wacky plot involves Rug pissing, Bowling and more "White Russian" than you can shake a Dude at. Hilarious throughout, I give The Big Lebowski,
9 AND A HALF THUMBS UP!
A.I
A truly bad film, this film is just painful to watch. It starts off well, but not only ends sentimentally, but ridiculously as well. The only good things in it are Jude Law's decent performance and a robotic teddy. This all adds up to a dismal 2 THUMBS UP!
MOULIN ROUGE
After breaking up with a certain Mr. Cruise, Nicole Kidman simply outclassed him last year film-wise.
This great Modern musical envokes so many emotions in you, and it is all down to the fantastic directorial skill, spectacular performances and amazing music. Moulin Rouge dances away with a "Spectacular Spectacular"
9 THUMBS UP!
MULHOLLAND DRIVE
Well, its been 4 months since I saw this and I still can't figure it out! But, funnily enough, thats what draws me to this film. The weirdness captivates you, tells a (sort of) story, and mystifies you. Whould've thunk making Twin Peaks weirder and sticking lesbians in would get a film 9 THUMBS UP! David Lynch is who.
