| After Spider-man realised his "new costume" was actually an alien symbiote, he separated himself from it. The symbiote was angered by this and found a new host - Spidey hater Eddie Brock. The symbiote informed Brock of Spider-Man's true identity, and blessed him with powers superior to even Spider-man himself. The pairing of Brock & the Symbiote called themselves Venom. Venom immediately went after Spidey's wife & eventually Spidey. Spider-Man was terrified and realised he could not defeat a foe who was near identical in abilities to himself but also much more powerful. Since then, Venom has been a thorn in Spidey's side, and will probably continue to be as long as Spider-Man draws breath. | ||||||||||||||||||||
