Like most Marui guns, the SR16 is well built and sports a nice black body (unlike those grey M4 bodies...eck).  The RIS, panels, pistol grip, and flip sight all come stock.

The trademarks say on one side

SR-16 M4
STONER RIFLE
KAC Shield
CAL. 5.56MM
KA20511

on the other side it says

KNIGHT'S MFG. CO.
VERO BEACH, FL.
U.S.A.

RIS pistol grip:  The pistol grip is made up of regular plastic I think.  No durability issues yet, but for airsoft use it will last a very long time.

Flip Sight: Made of metal, seems well built.  Will accept pretty much most, if not all accesories made for MWS's, RAS's, RIS's (has 20 mm rail).  If you have a regular M4 and want to retrofit it with a RIS, you will need to get a new front RIS ring, because the ridges of the front grip ring of a regular M4 are too thick.

Accuracy: Out of the box, I experienced some accuracy problems.  After a BB would fly for about 25 feet, it would curve to the right.  At first, I thought I adjusted my rear sight incorrectly.  But when I took the sight off, I could clearly see that it was still curving.  So I opened the gun and re-installed the barrel.  Now it shoots fine.

There is some body creaking when you squeeze the body, but its not that disturbing.  As for the durability of the gun itself, during an SCA game, the fuse burned out and there was a BB jammed in the barrel.  Unfortunately for me, both of these happened at a critical moment.  For those wondering, I was using a 9.6v 1700mah nicad, and the BBs I were using were Excel .2 100% biodegradeable BBs.

The full stock can hold large batteries, but if you have a 9.6v 1700mah nicad from one of those ebay sellers.....then its going to be a very tight fit in the stock.  Every time I tuck in the battery, my stock becomes bloated, but its not a big deal.

As for the gearbox, it is a version 2.  Not a very stable gearbox, but I'm running at Systema M120 and metal bushing and it hasn't cracked yet.  The motor is an EG1000 and is strong enough to pull any upgrade. (although you still might want to buy stronger motors to have better power efficiency). Rate of Fire is decent....about 10-13 rounds per second with my 9.6 at stock FPS.

Overall, the SR16 is a damn good gun and serving me well.  There are at least a hundred different accessories you can buy for it.  It might possibly be the best gun of the armalite series.

Also, that sling mount under the RIS; if you don't have a sling, that sling mount can be very annoying.  When you're running, the sling mount will swing up and down and bang against your barrel, which results in a very annoying "clink" sound.
