An archaeological site, 2 miles to the south of Dogran. It is a place of great antiquity reaching as far back as the first century. It has been identified with Taki or Tse-Kia of Hieun Tsiang, which was the capital of Punjab at the time of the visit of the Chinese pilgrim. The empire of which Taki was the capital extended from the Indus to Beas. In the ruins scattered about the site the foundation of an ancient palace; citadel and fortifications can be traced. It appears that the city was built of a very large primitive, bricks moulded into ornamental patterns numerous coins of the Scythians period have been found from the site. One of the mounds marks the site of the stupa which was constructed by Ashoka to mark the site where Buddha had halted Nankana Sahib 55 miles from Lahore, was the birth place of Guru Nanak the founder of Sikhism. There is a Sikh Gurdwara, which is visited by Sikh pilgrims from India on the occasion of Baisakhi.
