The Shalamar Garden:

Built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1641 AD. This garden is one of the most beautiful examples of Mughal landscape architecture. A peripheral wall conceals from the passerby the most beautiful 40 acres of Lahore. The garden is arranged in three terraces. The decreasing elevation facilitates the flow of water to all parts of the garden from a central waterway. The garden which was the venue of many Meena Bazaars (Women s market-picnics where only the Mughal King and princes could enter) now provides a charming site for such occasions for the common man.

Jinnah Garden:

Formerly known as the Lawrence Garden from the British days is situated next door to the Lawrence and Montgomery Halls. It is a vast garden, which also houses a zoo and is worth a visit with the children they are getting bored.

Jallo Adventure Park:

A themetic adventure funland is now under construction close to Lahore at the Jallo Park.

The park includes Ancient Land which will trace the early beginnings of man from pre-historic hunter/farmer through the rise of Islam including the beginnings of civilization in the Sumatra Valley' Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Byzantium and Ancient China. One of the sections of the park is Islamic Land. The exhibits will include the history of Arabs, the advent of Islam, the Islamic code and information about the Holy Wars. The Highlights of the park is Pakistan Land. This section will include three components The Cultural Land (beautiful folk arts, music and other cultural influences)

Historic Land (constitutional history, information about this country's historic leaders and milestones in the development of this independent nation) and modern Pakistan. This will contain exhibits illustrating how Pakistan is poised to take its position as one of the economic leaders in South Asia.

One section will be Scientific Land featuring the latest scientific developments of the modern world. This hands-on exhibit will serve the dual purpose of entertainment and education.

A big part of the funds in every amusement park are the outdoor rides. The plants for the Jallo Park Adventure Land include over 20 rides, such as a world class roller coaster, galaxy wheel, water log ride, balloon ride, jumper boats, twin dragon ships and kiddie rides like merry go rounds and mono rails in other words, fun for the whole family

In addition the Adventure World will have several restaurants and picnic areas. Sea World Aquarium, arcade games, videos, mirror house magic palace, circus world, horror house, and an open air theatre. Enough entertainment and educational exhibits to keep a whole family busy for several days.

Gulshan-e-lqLal:

Situated in Iqbal Town it was inaugurated in 1982, spread over an area of 62 acres, comprising 22 lush green terraced lawns, intertwined in an intricate network of footpaths paved with concrete slabs. A water fall, a miniature model of the Walled City and 2 lakes (one for boating and one for fishing) this park features a variety of play and recreational equipment including an astrojet, electric dodging cars a "tea cups" roundabout, a diesel train and a number of slides and swings.

Changa Manga:

Changa Manga, the biggest man made forest spread over an area of 12.510 acres of land and situated at a distance of 68 kms (42 miles) from Lahore. is another beautiful holiday resort in Punjab. The forest has been provided with an artificial lake, miniature train and other facilities like boating and rest houses, Cottages are maintained by the Forest Department.

Hiran Minar:

Jehangir's deer tower and hunting pavilion was built in 1616.The Hiran Minar, about 34 kms from Lahore. is yet another proof of Mughal genius for construction, set in a charming peaceful environ. the Hiran Minar, meaning 'deer tower' was constructed by Emperor Jehangir as a monument to the memory of his pet antelope. Facilities for boating have recently been provided by the Tourism Development Corporation of the Punjab at this spot. The Rest House, facilities are being, looked after by the Department of Archaeology, Government of Pakistan. Set in the middle of an artificial lake, the tank is well stocked with fish.

On the way from Lahore to Shaikhupura is a massive square red brick fort built by Jehangir in 1619 which was used by Rani Nakaryan, one of Ranjit Singh's wives in the 19th century. The tomb of Rani Nakaryan is also in Sheikhupura

Gulabi Bagh:

About 2 km to the west along the GT Road is the Gulabi Bagh, the rose garden of which only the gateway remains besides the road. Covered with vivid glazed tile mosaic and calligraphy, it was built in mid, 17th century by Shah Jehan's admiral of the fleet Mirza Sultan Beg, as a pleasure garden.

Hazuri Bagh:

Between the Badshahi Mosque and the Lahore Fort is the Hazuri Bagh (Garden). This is a square garden originally built by Aurangzeb as a Serai or a Mughal hotel. The two storey, building by the Southern gate was a boarding house for Scholars who studied in the mosque. The north gate of the Hazuri garden is the Roshani Darwaza' the gate of light, so called because it used to be brightly lit at night.
