It is a good hunting ground for markhor (mountain goats) fox, pheasants and partridges.

Malam Jabba:

At 2651.76 meters (8.700 feet) above sea level and 38.62 km (24 miles) northeast of Saidu Sharif has been developed as a ski-cum-summer resort. (Complete article ahead.)

Hunting:

The game in Swat includes leopard, black bear, brown bear, goral (mountain goat) markhor (wild goat), Chikor, black and grey partridge. The shooting season (for specified animals) is from October to March 15. Shooting license is issued by the Deputy Commissioner Saidu Sharif.

Angling:

The hatchery at Madyan stocks the Swat River with trout. The angling season opens from April.

Excavated Sites:

Various Buddhist excavations exist near Saidu Sharif at Batkara and south towards Chakdara at Udegram and Nemogram. Buddhist stupas and remains are spread all over the southern part of the valley.

Kabal:

Kabal is a golfer's paradise an eighteen-hole golf course is opens the year round.

Miandam:

It is an exciting tourist resort of great natural beauty. It offers comfortable PTDC Motels. On the way are beautiful terraced fields, snow-capped peaks, wild-flower-studded slopes and fruit-laden trees.

Madyan:

Madyan lies in the heart of the Upper Swat Valley in a charming setting with steep wooded hills, terraced fields neatly bordered by stonewalls, and here and there, mud houses on the slopes. The Swat River flows here in a torrent through gorges and bedrock.
