Mausoleum
Mausoleum of Data Gunj Bakhsh Hajveri:
The Darbar or shrine of Data Gunj Bakhsh, 16th century saint, is situated
near Bhati Gate. The Darbar which consists of the mausoleum of the saint.
The Hujra of the Muslim Saint Hazrat Khawaja Moeenuddin Chishti of Ajmer
(India) and a beautiful mosque stands on a raised platform to which a flight
of stairs lead up.A grand mosque has been built near the mausoleum.
Mausoleum of Dr. Allama Iqbal:
Just beside the Badshahi Mosque is the mausoleum of Dr. Allama Iqbal, Pakistan's
national poet and philosopher who gave the thought, to the Muslims of India,
for an independent homeland. It is made of red sandstone and the cenotaph
has a highly decorative calligraphy of Ouranic verses and poems of Allama
Iqbal laid in Lapis Lazulli. Various visiting Heads of State and other
dignitaries pay homage to this famous poet and philosopher of the East.
