Lahore is linked with the rest of the country by air, rail and road. The Grand Trunk Road from Kabul to Calcutta passes through Lahore. The road, was originally built by Sher Shah Suri in the 16th century.

Traditionally hospitable to visitors, Lahore provides good hotels and restaurants (see Hospitality Sector) air and rail services efficient facilities. Joy rides on Tongas (horse coaches) are great fun for tourists.
