Materials: Conkers (horse chestnuts) of all sizes; pins; brightly coloured wool (not too thick); needle; scissors

1.    Choose a large conker and push 4 pins into it (drawing 1).

2.    Tie the wool to the first pin and wind it in and out of the pins.  This is like weaving: behind one and in front of the other (drawing 2)

3.    Thread a needle and use it to take the end of the wool down into the weaving.  Cut off neatly.
