All the players stand in a circle and each girl is given a number.  Once player is chosen to stand in the middle, holding a broom.

This girl calls out a number and lets go of the brook.  The player who's number has been called out must run forward and catch the broom before it falls to the ground.

If she catches the broom, the girl replaces the person in the middle of the circle.  If she misses, she is out of the game.
