Tinikling

This comes from the Philippines.  The steps of the dance show how the tickling bird hops in and out of the thick undergrowth without getting its feet caught.

You need three people and two poles, broom handles are ideal.

Two people are the pole holders and one person is the dancer.

The pole holders hold each end of a pole and crouch down on the floor.  They then tap the poles together twice and then bang them on the floor, tap the poles together twice and bang them on the floor and so on.

The dancer makes up their own dance steps in and out of the poles (watch your ankles!)
