He kept a blank face. On the outside he seemed so calm. But on the inside emotions were running around. He stood a few feet away from her. It was sheer emotional torture. He could touch her but he didn�t. He inhaled her scent but didn�t make a move. Her name was on his lips but he didn�t let it escape. In his dreams they would be perfect together. A match made in heaven. But this was hell.

He had seen her dump a guy once. He didn�t want to go through that. His reputation was on the line here. He could almost hear her gossip with her friends what a loser he was. �Rainey?� God, his voice sounded funny. She turned around to face him. �Mark.� She said with a soft and sweet voice. The exact same voice that made his stomach flip over. �I�� She stepped a little closer. Her scent was intoxicating him. He instantly forgot what he wanted to say. �Never mind.� She shrugged a little and turned back to her friends. Millions of thoughts raced through his mind. She knew he was. Off course you silly, you are in a band. Your face is all over the place. She smelled great. He had to find out what perfume she was wearing. Another thing to torture himself with.

He silently told himself to get a grip. She was a fan. She had to love him. Well, not love but at least like him. And there was no written rule saying he couldn�t date a fan. But she was no ordinary fan. She was Rain. He had seen her times and times before. And now he was standing so close and now he had to change to tell her. The worse she could do, was break his heart. Mark took a deep breath.

His heart yelled at him. He had to tell her. But his head screamed no. She was a fan. Don�t do it. Than I won�t. Mark sighed again. What was he to do? He could never date her. �No, no no.� He softly murmured. He had to make a move soon. The meet and greet was almost over. She would return to her seat and he would do another show on automatic pilot. He would spend the whole time scanning the crowd to see if he could discover her face.

He couldn�t do that again. Not another night. �Rain?� His voice sounded stronger. Again she turned around to look at him. Her eyes were filled with laughter. She knew. She was laughing at him. �Nothing.� He mumbled. Rainey shrugged and turned back again. Mark wanted the ground to split up this instant and suck him in. He was making a fool out of him self. Why couldn�t he tell her what he was feeling?

He could hear her talk in his head. He remembered every word she had said to him. He knew exactly how she wrinkled her nose when she smiled. He loved it. How she kept putting that look of hair behind her ear. He wanted to do that for her. He wanted to run his hands through her hair. He didn�t want to stand a few feet behind. He wanted to stand at her side. Share the dream she had. Share her live. He wanted to hear her say his name with love. Mark stamped his foot. This was getting so ridiculous.

His band mates looked at him with raised eyebrows. He was making a fool out of himself. And why? She was only in his dreams. He couldn�t loose her. He never had her. It was now or never.

�Rain?� he said again. She turned around with an impatient look on her face. �What Mark?� She said with a harsh voice. �I�I love you.� He stuttered. Her face turned blank and she blinked a few times. �You love me?� She asked. He nodded. It was over now. She would turn around and laugh at him with her friends. �I love you too.� His mates would think he was crazy. He would get sacked. Goodbye dreams. Goodbye� �You what?� Her words took a while to sink in. �I love you too.� Rainey said with a smile. Mark opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. She caressed his cheek with her hand. �We�ll talk after the show.� Her lips grazed his. And she was gone. The meet and greet was over.
