Masjid Jamek was the biggest mosque in in Muar (before the new mosque in Tanjung Agas completed in 2000). Located just next to the Muar River, this mosque is an important landmark of the town. Another ariel view of Muar showing the town and river going upstream. This picture was probably taken in the 1970's because as we enter the town from the bridge, there is a roundabout. In the mid 1980s the roundabout was changed into a one way junction. The area around Tanjung Agas is occupied by trees. Now it has become� an industrial estate occupying various types of manufacturing plants ranging from semiconductors to furniture, food products, etc.(Photo contributed by: Leong Tatt Man.
