Scale Models

One area the Estes was certainly not lacking in was scale model kits of real launch vehicles. While your basic three fin and a nose cone (3FNC) rocket is fun, after a while you want your rockets to start looking like the real thing. Estes made scale rockets in all sizes and skill levels. It always seemed as though that the models I wanted to build most were always the most challenging skill level. But then of course the reward of finishing one of those beauties was the pride felt when displaying and flying it.

Scale, to me at least, is one of the most rewarding niches of model rocketry. Here you can be as detailed as you want. The point is, when you finsish you have a miniature, flying representation of the real thing. Somehow that makes flying them much more fun. As ou can see from the previous pages Estes has scale models in almost all of their catagories.

Once again, clicking on the name of the particular launch vehicle will bring up particulars of the model that I built.
