Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Mrs. Vernie Goodman, 57, who died last Wednesday at her home in Hutton Valley, following a long illness.
She was born April 22, 1894, and was married in 1919 to S. R. Goodman, who survives. To this union ten children were born, three of which preceded her in death.
Survivors are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Vivian Odom, Hutton Valley, Mrs. Nadine Marik, Winona; Mrs. Ophelia McClain and Mrs. Delight Counts, both of St. Louis; three sons, Victor Goodman, Mountain View, and J. R. and Loran Goodman of Hutton Valley; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, J.T. and Roland Henry of Mountain View, and several nephews and nieces.
Services were held at the Mount Zion Church on Highway 17 near Mountain View with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery under the direction of the Burns Funeral Home.
