Welcome to the artwork of Sandra Schou.

Ms. Schou is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, with a degree in Fine Art, and has created works in acrylics, oil pastel, and pastel for over 30 years. Here you will see examples of Sandy's work from delicate colored pencil drawings done from 80-year-old photographs to 36' long murals painted with life size figures of adults, children, and animals. Sandy paints commissioned work as well as work for her own enjoyment. Her commissions have ranged from portraiture to personalized collages to pet portraits to themed murals. Sandy uses a variety of sources for creating her paintings including studio photographs, snapshots, and copious research to make her work personal, perceptive, and professional.

The image on this page is one section of a mural of Jesus and Nicodemusfrom the First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, TN. The mural, painted in acrylic, is 36 feet long with life size figures and incorporates existing elements of the room such as the light fixtures which are used as the bowls for the flaming oil lamps in the mural and the carpeting which blends into the pattern of the rug.
