Coelophysis

Coelophsis,
A highly adaptable little carnivorous
dinosaur that was both an active hunter
and a scavenger. Probably solitary
most of the time, but during the dry
seasonwould occasionally concentrate
in large groups around food and water
resources.

Evidence,
Hundreds od skeletons found at Ghost
Ranch in New Mexico, including several
whole skeletons and juveniles. Also found
in the Petrified Forest in Arizona.

Size,
Maximum length of 10 feet (3 meters)
and standing just under 3 feet (1 meter)
at th hip. Weighed about 100 pounds
(40 kilograms).

Diet,
An opportunistic carnivore and occasional
cannibal.

Time,
Triassic period, 222-215 million years ago.
