The Trunk is FINISHED!!!

Below are some photos of before/during/after the restoration process.

This is what the trunk looked like before I ever did any work on it. It was completely covered in years of gunk.

click for a better image These photos show some of the progress. First I stripped all the old paint and gunk off. Then I masked and painted the black panels and hardware.

Below is the graining tool used to create the faux wood finish in the paint. You just rock it back and forth while pulling it through the topcoat of paint. The result is shown at the bottom of the page.

Here is the front of the trunk after all the painting is finished.
Lastly, I applied Tung oil to all the wooden parts and buffed them.
