A scene that can no longer be seen in Jersey, for not only has the R series bus been replaced by a Dennis Dart, the parking area in which it stayed in between working its final days in service as a school bus has since been re-modelled as a garden area, the centrepiece being Jersey's (in)famous steam clock. This Ford dated from 1977 and was different from the later vehicles which have enclosed driver's cabs and four-piece doors. It had a luggage area on the nearside.
