A rear view of the first electric buses to operate in Jersey at the La Collette power station, where they are seen recharging in June 1999 before being placed in service the following month. They retain the colours worn since new to the City of Oxford in 1993, with suitable graphics applied for the St Helier service.

A view of fleet number E2 from the side. These MetroRiders are not the shortest ever made, yet seat only 18 due to the weight of the battery packs - which had to be replaced before the buses could enter service, delaying them for close on two months. E1 was on a road test when these pictures were taken.

L803 HJO

Also at the power station at the same time is L803 HJO, the fourth of the ex-Oxford buses. It had suffered some light cannibalisation; the chalk markings on the windscreen read "VOR (Gearbox)". It had been moved by September 1999, but by autumn 2000 it had passed to Pioneer Coaches who had converted the bus to standard diesel power due to its good condition and low mileage.
