JMT 45 + 28

J 70712 + J 70708

Three of the Metroriders can be seen here in this 1993 view at the Weighbridge bus station, with the back of number 50 the Securicor advertisement bus just visible to the right of number 28. A spotless-looking J 70712 in the foreground had not long been painted out of an advertising scheme and became the first MCW to gain blue and white JMT Express colours by the folowing year. J 70708 behind it later received blue skirts, which were painted white again soon after - but retaining the Professional Business Systems advertising throughout!
The fourth Metrorider, number 3, could regularly be found on route 18 at the time, one of the more frequent routes which regularly passed the premises of Top Personnel, in whose livery it was painted.
While the six litre, six cylinder Cummins B series engine is fast becoming the new mainstay of the JMT fleet, fitted in all the Swifts and Darts, the Metroriders are the only buses with the non-turbocharged, less powerful version of this powerpack.
