JMT 21

J 42653 is a 1985 R series and is seen in the colours it was, and indeed all the Ford buses were, delivered in - white with a blue skirt and a slightly lighter blue surround to the windows at the sides, front and rear. The JMT Express livery is similar but with a black surround to the side windows, and none at the front and the rear. When photographed in late 1992, 21 was the sole remaining bus in this colour layout apart from two of the four 1975 Willowbrook-bodied R series still then operational, but after much of the rest of the fleet was reliveried from 1993 onwards it was treated itself, thus losing the blue areas around the front and rear screens in favour of white. The previous year's arrivals are identical apart from an opening boot door at the rear. 21 and most of the other 12 Vanguards bear number plates with the logo of the local Ford dealer, La Motte Garages, and the script at the base of the rear window reads: "PLEASE GIVE WAY TO THIS BUS".
