    Congress Communication in Portugal

Communication oral for the 6th European Conference on Value Analysis and Value Management in Estoril (17-18 of October of 1996)

    See please:  http://www.geocities.com/jguillermain/av.jpg

The objective of this communication was to transmit ideas on how to implement working methods that interfered with the Portuguese Machine Manufacturing management. According to SNI - Statistic National Institute, in 1991, 90% of the Portuguese Industries had less those 20 people. Generally, and according to my experience, managed by their creators, with no adequate professional formation, aware of concepts and tools for Production Management. Management proceeds, thus, in an empirical way, inadequate to the competition needs of an open market. The necessity of producing quality products, according to client's requirements, at minimum cost, imposes to all industries to act from the very conception and design of the product. To achieve this, the first step should be the creation of a Concurrent Engineering Department, able to practice a DFM - Design For Manufacture approach and use Function Analysis, first step of VA - Value Analysis and FMECA - Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis.

I have Intellectual flexibility and full international mobility
