Tank Girl (1995)
mini-review

It is the year 2033 and a comet crashing into the earth has created a post-apocalyptic world where Tank Girl (Lori Petty) rebels against the evil Water & Power Corporation. Tank Girl was introduced to the world in the late 80's in a British magazine titled Deadline. I'm not sure how the original artists handled the character, but the movie is pretty much an action film, and most fan sites seem to indicate that this is a derivation from the "punk" feel of the original comics.

It pretty much tanked (ha) at the box offic but isn't a bad comic film in its own right. It's worth sitting through, if nothing else but to see how this comic adaptation was handled (and Ice T as a kangaroo). Other names you might be familiar with: Naomi Watts is Jet Girl, friend of Tank Girl (that's not as goofy as it sounds here), and Malcolm McDowell is Kesslee, the evil CEO of Water & Power.
